Saleroom notices

It is believed that these silk fragments were made in Lyons, after a drawing by the architect Henri Labrouste (1801-1875). Similar fragments can be found in the Musée de l'Armée collection (MM.40.47.2976 and MM.40.47.2977). The unmounted example is formerly from the Bernard Franck Collection whilst the other is reputed to have come from the collections of General Durand de Villiers and Exaltier.
