A second quarter 19th century French polished brass and faux porphyry painted tôle peinte souvenir obelisk

Almost certainly commemorating the second internment of Napoleon in 1840 after the 'retour des cendres' from St. Helena, the tapering obelisk upper section with spire and onion finial on ball feet, the open square pedestal with moulded cornice and foot, the sides with open lancet arched apertures centred by a stylised footed sarcophagus tomb surmounted with a bicorne hat and crossed sword finial, raised on a shallow platform, the whole raised on a square plinth base, the painted finish refreshed, 55cm high
