PROVENANCE
The Lucio's Collection, Sydney

LITERATURE
Lucio Galletto and Timothy Fisher, The Art of Food at Lucio's, Craftsman House, Sydney, 1999, p. 213 (illus.)

Painted especially for the Lucio's dining room by Tim Storrier in 1992, its creation has become the embedded into the very fabric of the building. Storrier famously took a scraping of the yellow pigment from the Lucio's walls back to his studio, the echo of that Tuscan colour alive in the burning rope and embers. Of Lucio, Storrier says, 'The first thing I noticed about Lucio was his gentle warmth... You get a whole lot of artists who get too thirsty, there's always shenanigans. Lucio has the ability of the bouncer and the great chef, and his kindness was immense. Sally, too, is a woman of great compassion. They are a great team.'
