This painting is accompanied by Short St Gallery documentation that reads: 'This is Pinkalarta my place I was born and grew up, this is my mothers country. You know mummy mine been born there, we bush people us. It is in the Great Sandy Desert near Joanna spring on Anna Plains station, Western Australia. This country has lots of Mayi (bush food). This painting shows the Mayi. He got him big water, good water everyone can drink him. He gone now. I been born there near the water. Big jila (waterhole) He got him big water, good water everyone can drink him. He gone now. I lost my mummy and sister here.'
