Built around 1864 by pastoralist, the Honourable John Duncan Maclean and it was later occupied by John Fraser, Mr Walter Lamb (1877-80), the Hon. William Halliday, M.L.C. (1895). A comparable work from this period titled The Ever Restless Sea is housed in the collection of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney.
