A mitokoromono (set of three sword fittings)
Edo period (1615-1868), 18th century
Comprising a kozuka with steel blade, a kogai, and a pair of menuki, all principally of shakudo, the kozuka with a copper-gilt frame with nekogaki striations, the fittings variously formed as or decorated in high relief of gold, silver, shakudo, and shibuichi with saihai (commander's batons) and other samurai accouterments, the kogai signed Goto Mitsunobu with a kao
