A shin shinto wakizashi
Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), circa 1865
Of hirazukuri, iorimune configuration and forged in running itame hada in jinie with a tempered edge of gunome midare with box-shaped heads, mixed with choji midare, falling of to a shallow yakidashi with ko-nie, kinsen, and sunagashi, the boshi small and round, the ubu tang with one hole, katte sagari file marks, 15 1/16in (38.2cm) long, with a one-piece silver habaki, in a wood shirasaya storage scabbard
With Hozon Token (Sword Worthy of Preservation) certificate no. 373771 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword), dated April 3, 2016
