Footnotes

This work is by the second-generation Kunisuke, known "Naka Kawachi", who was active in the middle of the 17th century. His father Kunisuke I, was a student of Horikawa Kunihiro (1531-1614), a well-know smith smith who moved to Osaka in the early 17th century. Kunisuke II is admired for his bright, clear jigane and strong choji-shaped hamon ending in yakidashi.
