UJIFUSA (ACTIVE 17TH CENTURY)

A Kaga wakizashi in mounts
Edo period (1615-1868), 17th century
Honzukuri, iorimune, chu-gissaki toriizori forged in itame hada with a choji midae tempered edge and a midare komi boshi, the ubu tang with taka no ha file marks, two holes, and signed Kaga no kami Ujifusa, 20 3/8in (51.7cm) long, with a one-piece silver-foil habaki
The 19th-century koshira-e comprising a black-lacquer saya with a shakudo kozuka decorated with a dragon in crashing waves in takabori and gold takazogan, the tsuka with shakudo nanako-ji fuchi-gashira decorated with warriors in waves in takabori and gold takazogan, the gold and shakudo menuki formed as coiling dragons, the shakudo and gold Soten-school tsuba decorated with mounted warriors in combat, signed Soheishi Nyudo Soten sei
