A Mino tanto in mounts with Ishiguro-school fittings
Muromachi period (1333-1573), 16th century
Of hirazukuri, iorimune configuration, forged in itame hada and with a gunome midare tempered edge with box-shaped heads based in nie, the ko-maru boshi with some hakikake, the ubu, ha-agari tang with indistinct file marks, one hole and signed Kanesada, 7 3/4in (19.ccm) long, with a one-piece silver habaki
The 19th-century aikuchi goshira-e comprising a black-lacquer ribbed saya mounted with matching silver fittings including kojiri, kurikata, kozuka-guchi, fuchi-gashira and a kozuka and wari-kogai, all decorated with maple leaves on rolling waves with highlights in gold, the tsuka wrapped in black-lacquered cord and fitted with silver menuki formed as chrysanthemums with gold highlights, the koiguchi signed Ishiguro Masaharu tsukuru
