泰國或印度尼西亞 室利佛逝 九/十世紀 觀音菩薩銅像
This tall and slender figure of Avalokiteshvara has the characteristic frontality and high chignon of Maritime Southeast Asian depictions of the bodhisattva in the centuries abutting the turn of the Second Millennium CE. On the front of his crown, is the rubbed, diagnostic effigy of Amitabha Buddha. In Avalokiteshvara's left hand, he holds a ritual water vessel. The back of the base is cast with a slot to attach the bronze to a superstructure, possibly a sculptural triad, such as the Standing Four-Armed Avalokiteshvara Flanked by Tara and Bhrikuti at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (1987.142.22). Also compare to a silver figure of Avalokiteshvara sold at Christie's, 21 March 2017, lot 295 and a slightly ealier example sold Christie's, Paris, 10 December 2002, lot 177.
