MOLLISON, JAMES ALLAN, MBE 1905-1959.

CARRIED ABOARD THE FIRST SOLO EAST-TO-WEST TRANSATLANTIC CROSSING.
Cover Signed ("J.A. Mollison"), August 18-19, 1932, 101 x 230 mm, also signed by Lord Mayor of Dublin, Alfie Byrne and mayor of Saint John, New Brunswick Canada, James W. Brittain, with city seal of Dublin, of Saint John and of New York City, with typed enclosure stating: "Conveyed by courtesy of Mr. J.A. Mollison."

A rare memento of J.A. Mollison's solo east-west transatlantic flight from Portmarnock, Ireland to Pennfield, New Brunswick, Canada. Mollison, then newly married to more famous aviator Amy Johnson, here inscribes: "Carried by the first solo East-West Transatlantic crossing / J.A. Mollison." The Mayors of both Dublin and Saint John both confirm their respective city's seal. The cover's final destination was New York City and an unidentified signature (certainly not the current mayor James Walker) confirms receipt on August 21, 1932.
