ARCHIVE RELATING TO THEIR FATHER.
WRIGHT, MILTON. 1828-1917. 26 Autograph Letters Signed and 10 Typed Letters Signed ("Milton Wright") to his niece Grace Frazier of Rushville, IN, Dayton, OH, March 7, 1909 to August 14, 1913, many with original autograph transmittal envelope. WITH: 21 other family letters to Grace Frazier, an account ledger, c.1885, likely kept by ancestor Harvey Wright; two tintypes and approx. 70 other photos, most albumen print cabinet cards and CDVs, of family members.

Milton Wright was a Bishop in the Church of the United Brethren, and as such, moved frequently during the childhoods of Wilbur and Orville before settling in Dayton, OH in in 1884. This series of correspondence to Milton Wright's niece begins in 1909, a few years after the Wright Brothers astounding breakthrough success, and cover the early years of the Wright Brothers aviation business. It includes exciting, detailed news of their triumphant tour of France and their acceptance of the Legion of Honor; the sale of flying machines to Italy, France and the US Govt for astounding prices; and descriptions of their successes around the globe. The senior Wright also reports Wilbur's illness from typhoid fever and later sends the sad news of his death. Running through the correspondence are mentions of the various lawsuits against Glenn Curtiss and others for copyright infringement.
