4to (260 x 120 mm). 4 (of 7) engraved plates. Late 19th/early 20th century half polished calf and marbled boards. Lacking "specimen chart" and plates I, VI and V, joints starting, corners rubbed, scattered spotting.
Provenance: Kenneth Garth Huston (bookplate).

FIRST EDITION of the first history of electricity. Includes much on the experiments of Priestley's friend, Benjamin Franklin. Crook S480; Norman 1748.
