POCKET SUNDIAL COMPASS

[JOHANN GEORG VOGLER. 1720-1765.] Augsburg: mid-18th century.
Square brass body with cut-out foliate decorations, round central compass set in, with folding brass and steel gnomon and protractor, steel hinges. Reverse engraved "Elev Poli Lisbon 39 Rom 42 Vened 45 Wien Augsp Munchen 48 Nurnb Heidel Regensp 49 Prag Cracau 50 IGV." 67 x 67 mm. Glass slightly frosted, old polishing residue in recesses.
