APOLLO 12: NASA "RED NUMBER" PHOTOGRAPH

ALAN BEAN COLLECTS LUNAR SAMPLES.
Vintage NASA silver gelatin print photograph, 8 x 10 inches, upper margin with "AS12-49-7278" printed in black, verso with mimeographed press information.

Charles Conrad Jr. captures this picture of Alan Bean with a container full of lunar soil collected during their EVA. Conrad is clearly visible in Bean's visor reflection and the black and white film is particularly well suited to lunar photographs, still containing detail in the area where the Sun's light is reflected off of Bean's suit.
