APOLLO 11: PHOTO ALBUM
Containing 4 color photographs, 8 x 8 inches, 1969, each with "A Kodak Paper" watermarks on verso, contained in green imitation leather album, rear pastedown with: "Compliments of Schlegel Mechanical Contractors 1969" in silver gilt and with Letter Signed from Schlegel Mechanical Contractors president laid in.
Rare contractor's photo album with photographs of:
1. Apollo 11 Earth view by Michael Collins (probably AS11-36-5353).
2. Buzz Aldrin setting up the laser reflector and passive seismometer south of the Lunar Module (AS11-40-5949).
3. Buzz Aldrin's image of the Lunar Module (AS11-40-5915).
4. Buzz Aldrin standing beside north-facing strut and footpad (AS11-40-5902).
The accompanying letter states that "these 'moon shots' are first generation prints from the original negatives returned in Apollo 11." The square format is particularly pleasing as alleviates the problem of the uneven margins found on the 8 x 10s and accurately prints the square-format 70mm Hasselblad images taken by the crew.
