RENDEZVOUS & DOCKING.
Group of 3 Color Photographs, 1965 & 1966, each 8 x 10 inches, each with NASA "red number" identification in margin, each with "A Kodak Paper" watermarks on the verso.
Photographs include:
S-65-63221 Gemini VI-A & VII – The Gemini VII spacecraft as seen from Gemini VI-A. This was the first crewed rendezvous of two spacecraft.
S-66-25781 - Gemini VIII - Aegna Target Vehicle 55-feet from the Gemini spacecraft. Gemini VIII marked the first time that two spacecraft successfully docked.
S-66-37970 - Gemini IXA - Pictured is the Augmented Target Docking Adapter (ATDA) that was to be the intended rendezvous for the Gemini spacecraft. Unfortunately, the launch shroud had not detached and the rendezvous was abandoned. Command Pilot Tom Stafford described the scene to Mission Control: "It looks like an angry alligator out here rotating around."
