Rare Orangy-Red Spinel

Spinels of over a carat or two in size are considered to be rare: the present stone weighs 6.69 carats and has a very uncharacteristic and attractive hue of orangy red. The exceptional luster and high degree of clarity put it into a class of rare collector gemstones which are sure to form the cornerstone of any serious collection.
