This cluster of former military buildings is around the bend from Ft. Point, below which the Golden Gate Bridge now stands. You can see the old lighthouse in Marin on the opposite shore, where the span would finish. In the Alfred Hitchcock film Vertigo it's the road where Jimmy Stewart travels as he follows Kim Novak. It is also the spot where she jumps into the Bay. The very same fencing can be seen in the film. Nearby Coit Tower is adorned with murals by noted WPA artists including Ray Boynton.
