Footnotes
In the late nineteenth century, Eugenio Croce opened a jewelry store on Via Orefici (Jeweler's Road), in the heart of Genova. His son, Vittorio Croce, who later inherited the shop, was well-known for adorning prestigious clientele with his designs. A collector himself, he kept the pieces he loved most, such as this diamond ring which has been passed down from generation to generation. Bonhams is pleased to offer this ring for sale for the first time.
