A good facet-stem wineglass, circa 1760-70

The round funnel bowl finely decorated with a cornucopia overflowing with fruit including apples, pears and grapes, together with ears of wheat and barley, the reverse with a bird in flight carrying an olive branch in its beak, the base cut with petal flutes over hexagonal facets and a conical foot, 15.9cm high

In their catalogue, Delomosne and Son suggest that the engraving is usually thought to represent 'Peace and Plenty', perhaps celebrating the end of the Seven Years' War in 1763.
