A fine Paul Stankard upright botanical bouquet, insect and 'earth spirit' paperweight, dated 1997

Of tall tapering rectangular form with rounded corners, a three-dimensional bouquet of white flowers among pointed leaves and stems suspended within the clear glass, including shoots bearing word canes inscribed 'FERTILE', 'MOIST', 'SCENT' and 'SEEDS', surrounded by two bees in flight, another clambering along a stalk, the root system below inhabited by six 'earth spirits', 7.1cm wide, 6.7cm deep, 10.9cm high, signed 'Paul J. Stankard' and 'T30 '97'
