An impressive Baccarat concentric millefiori mushroom magnum paperweight, circa 1850

The high tuft set with concentric rows of composite canes in pale red and cobalt-blue alternating with two rows of white stardust canes, together forming a 'Tricolore' arrangement, the central cane with a silhouette of a butterfly, within a blue and white spiralling torsade edged with a mercurial line, star-cut base, 9.6cm diam, 7cm high

Concentric mushroom paperweights by Baccarat are uncommon and seldom contain silhouette canes. It is particularly rare to find a weight of this type in such a large size.

Buyers' Premium and Charges

Buyer's Premium Rates
28% on the first £40,000 of the hammer price;
27% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £40,000 up to and including £800,000;
21% of the hammer price of amounts in excess of £800,000 up to and including £4,500,000;
and 14.5% of the hammer price of any amounts in excess of £4,500,000.
