A fine opaque twist candlestick, circa 1760

The cylindrical sconce with an everted rim, set on a small cushion knop above a beaded knop, over a tapering double-series stem set between graduated collars, the stem enclosing a pair of heavy spiral tapes around a broad central gauze core, over a basal beaded knop and graduated basal collars extending into a terraced domed foot, 22.4cm high
