In early 1997, and at the height of their success, Rob Munday was offered the opportunity to shoot and create unique holographic portraits of Oasis at his studio in Richmond-Upon-Thames, London, this artwork being an image from this shoot.
Rob's most prestigious commission to date came in 2003 when he was asked to shoot and create the first ever official holographic portrait of Her Majesty the Queen. In accepting the commission Rob became the first ever Royal holographer. The portrait was commissioned by The Jersey Heritage Trust-The States of Jersey to commemorate the island's 800 year allegiance to the English throne and was conducted as a joint and equal creative collaboration between Rob and designer/artist Chris Levine.
Working as both an artist and a technical innovator, and specialising in portraiture and natural subjects, he has created many unique holographic works and light sculptures which can be found in collections and galleries throughout the world. These include The National Portrait Gallery, The Victoria & Albert Museum, The Royal Collections Trust and the UK Government Art Collection in London.
