Footnotes

Provenance:
These autographs were obtained when the Beatles appeared at the Gaumont, Southampton, 13th December 1963. At the time, the vendor's father managed a newsagents in the Commercial Road, a few doors from the cinema. On the day of the concert, the venue's manager, a regular customer, came into the shop and, knowing the vendor to be a Beatles fan, asked her father if she would like to get her autograph book signed by the group. However she had already left for school so her father picked up the Pixerama book which was on sale in the shop. The manager took this to the venue and it came back duly signed.
