Sir Tom Stoppard has kindly annotated Diana Rigg's copy of his script in the knowledge that it was to be offered at auction. The present script therefore includes interesting insights and reminiscences of this production by the playwright himself.

The published script of the Evening Standard Award-winning play, which premiered at the Phoenix Theatre, London. The Michael Codron-produced play saw Diana Rigg in the lead role of Ruth Carson, as part of a successful theatrical run which lasted for two years.
