A pair of large Meissen flower-encrusted pot-pourri vases and covers, late 19th century

After the model by J.J. Kaendler of 1760, of reverse baluster form on a flared foot, each side with a moulded scrollwork cartouche edged in gilding, puce and turquoise and profusely applied with fruit and flowers with Cupid to one side, enclosing a painted scene depicting a elegant couple in a park setting, the sides with applied with flowering branch handles, the reverse with a similar cartouche enclosing a painted flower spray, the domed foot moulded with similar scrollwork and applied with flowering branches and a nymph holding a flower basket, the domed cover moulded with pierced scrollwork applied with leaves and flowers, surmounted by a tall finial of leaves and flowers, 62cm high, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue (one with one incised line), incised model number 2745. to both, one incised 44. and one with impressed 103, painter's numeral to one cover (some restoration and small chips to applied leaves and flowers) (4)
