A large Meissen group of The Three Fates, late 19th century

After the model by J.J. Kaendler of 1774, depicting Lachesis seated on the left, Clotho standing holding a spindle and attended by a putto in the centre and Atropos reclining at the front with the winged figure of Cronos holding the scissors in her right hand and restraining her, all on a high rockwork base on a flat-back bracket pedestal with moulded neo-classical borders heightened in turquoise and gilding, 35.5cm high; 35cm across base, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue (twice), incised model number 33., impressed numerals, painter's numeral 9. in purple (scissors restuck, minor restoration to Cronos' left wing)
