A Meissen figure allegorical of 'Taste', 19th century

After the model by J.F. Eberlein of 1748, as a classical maiden holding fruit from a bowl on a pedestal to her right on which sits a monkey tasting a fruit, the base raised on four gilt-edged scroll feet and moulded with scrollwork incorporating a mouth at the front, 27cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, incised model number 1049., impressed 107, painter's number 4.
