A Meissen Bacchanalian group, second half 19th century

After the model by J.J. Kaendler, depicting a youth wearing an animal hide, holding grapes and a goblet and seated on a barrel, flanked by two putti, a nymph seated at the rear by a basket of grapes and with a putto seated on a goat to her left, all on a rockwork base moulded with gilt-edged scrollwork, 28cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, incised model number 2202, painter's number 37. (some restoration)
