A Sèvres hard-paste porcelain plate from the 'Duke of Leinster' service, dated 1775

Painted in the well with a trophy of a basket, horn, spade, rake and a spindle surrounded by flowers, the rim with scalloped bands in gilding and blue, with garlands of flowers hanging from them, 24.2cm diam., crowned interlaced LL monogram enclosing date letter x, faint painter's mark in iron-red (some wear)

The service was purchased by William Robert, 3rd Duke of Leinster, on 21 October 1775, which may have been due to his upcoming marriage on 7 November 1775.
