A pair of Tournai plates, circa 1775

Painted with water birds in landscape vignettes in the well, the lobed gilt-edged rims decorated with four flower sprays in blue camaieu within gilt foliate scrollwork cartouches, 24cm diam., pseudo crossed swords and dot marks, incised marks (very minor scratches) (2)

Footnotes

A pair of similarly decorated plates are in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and a similar dish which was decorated in The Hague is in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
