A Sèvres bleu-lapis ground orange tub (Caisse carrée), dated 1759

Of the second size, painted by Jean-Louis Morin, the blue ground reserved with elaborate gilt foliate and floral scrollwork cartouches with trellis panels, enclosing colourful birds in landscapes, the feet heightened with gilt flowerheads, 14.8cm high, interlaced LL monogram enclosing date letter F, painter's mark M. for Morin and incised mark 8 (minor flaking to gilt edges on feet)
