A Sèvres square tray (plateau 'carré à jour), dated 1763

Of the first size, the tapering sides moulded and pierced with a border of S-scrolls and bell-flowers, painted by Pierre-Antoine Méreaud (l'aîné) with a pink ground with blue trellis pattern around an undulating band with panels of alternating flowerheads and trellis panels, the centre with foliate flower garlands, 15cm wide, interlaced LL monogram enclosing date letter K, painter's mark 'S' for Méreaud, incised marks x and IC (restoration to the rim)
