A Sèvres blue-ground cup and saucer (gobelet 'litron' et soucoupe), circa 1775

Of the second size, painted by Jean Bouchet with river landscapes within gilt-edged cartouches, the blue ground with an elaborate gilt border of a stylised Greek key pattern encircled by a floral and foliate garland, the knopped handle gilt, the cup: 6.8cm high, the saucer: 14.1cm diam., interlaced LL monograms in blue, painter's mark for Bouchet and gilder's mark Le Guay (l'aîné) (two restored chips to cup rim, some scratches to scenes) (2)
