A fine and very rare 20th century enamel-decorated solar powered rhodium plated mantel timepiece with original paperwork.
Patek Philippe, 874536. Circa 1973.
The low rectangular case surmounted by a solar panel between square-section uprights, both sides and the hinged rear door decorated with abstract blue and green enamel inlay against a bark-effect ground, the 4.5 inch silvered dial signed on an applied plaque, with applied lapis lazuli baton numerals, each hand heightened with a line of blue enamel, the movement with a 1.5V battery continuously powered by the solar panel above driving a 29-jewel gilt mechanical movement with lever escapement.
Together with the original Certificate of Origin and receipt dated 20 September 1973 for 6,750 Swiss Francs.
Serviced and re-finished in 2017 and supplied with a Patek Philippe carrying box. 14cms (5 1/2ins) high
