Gardner Factory, Moscow, late 19th - early 20th century
modelled seated on a bench wearing a coat, shirt, trouser and boots and holding an accordion, on a naturalistic rectangular base, marked under base with overglaze red and impressed factory marks and impressed number '8'
height: 17.4cm (6 7/8in).

Originally modelled in the 1860s, the figure of an accordion player was based on M. Piccolo's illustration for A.P. Golitsinskiy, Street characters, 1860.
