A Russian Cossack Shashka
Reign Of Nicholas II (1894-1917)

With curved fullered blade (some patination) double-edged towards the point, the forte on one side etched with crowned cypher of Nicholas II, and with the Imperial eagle between sprigs of foliage on the other, the back of the forte etched 'Zlat. Ov. Fabr.' in Russian (for Zlatoust Arms Factory), brass hilt of regulation type cast and chased in low relief with designs of scrolling arabesque foliage, the beaked pommel (Imperial arms erased on one side) pierced for a tassel, in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather (some wear and minor damage) with brass mounts decorated en suite with the hilt on the outside, and with a ring for suspension
