With tapering octagonal barrel struck on the underside at the breech with an unidentified barrelsmith's mark, tang held by a screw from beneath, flat lock (one side-nail replaced) with broad interrupted bevelled borders and rounded tail, flat external wheel retaining bracket secured by two screws, sprung manually operated pan-cover, cock with chiselled spring and baluster bridle secured by two screws, and pivoting button safety-catch acting against an external spring, figured fruitwood full stock (fore-stock mostly replaced) profusely inlaid opposite the lock, over the 'fish-tail' butt and ovoidal pommel (brass band replaced) with brass wire scrollwork terminating in engraved mother-of-pearl ball-flowers, all against a ground of minute brass stars and dots, and within slender brass wire line borders, iron trigger-guard (retaining screw and trigger replaced), and replacement brass fore-end cap, single ramrod-pipe, and brass-tipped ramrod (steel parts with old rust patination)
