A Fine Pair Of Brescian 20-Bore Flintlock Silver-Mounted Pistols

With two-stage barrels (minor areas of rust patination) each turned at the girdle, octagonal breeches each with gold-lined orb mark (see Neue Støckel 5761) between four small gold-lined leopard's head marks, tangs chiselled with foliage, bright flat bevelled locks each signed between star marks and chiselled with foliage on the tail, cocks and cock-retaining screws chiselled en suite, highly figured moulded full stocks each carved in low relief with foliage along each side of the fore-stock (one with minor chip on the upper edge on one side), around the barrel tang and around the escutcheon, silver mounts cast and chased with foliage en suite with the locks and comprising shaped side-plates, crowned vacant escutcheons, spurred pommels each with rounded cap, trigger-guards and turned ramrod-pipes, scrolled triggers, original wooden ramrods each with turned silver tip, and in fine condition
