An Austrian 22-Bore Flintlock Silver-Mounted Sporting Gun

With elaborately twist swamped barrel in the Turkish fashion encrusted with silver and gold fleur-de-lys over most of its length to the silver fore-sight, the latter and mid-section encrusted with silver foliate scrolls, breech decorated en suite and with gold-encrusted Arabic characters along the flat, border engraved tang, rounded lock finely chiselled in relief with martial trophies, rocailles and foliage on a finely punched gilt ground, cock, pan and steel decorated en suite, figured half-stock (fore-end with old repairs, rear ramrod-pipe replaced) carved with foliated strapwork in low relief, the butt flat along the bottom between flutes and with cheek-piece, full mounts cast, chased and engraved with foliage and rocailles, comprising shaped side-plate, vacant escutcheon, butt-plate and toe-plate, figured spurred trigger-guard with strap mount and finial en suite, fore-end cap carrying a turned and engraved faceted ramrod-pipe, silver barrel-band engraved en suite with the mounts, and associated horn-tipped ramrod
