A Dutch 15-Bore Snider Conversion Military Musket, And A Dutch 13-Bore Percussion Cavalry Carbine
No. 4518, Dated 1862, The Second Mid-19th Century

With sighted barrel retained by three spring-held barrel bands, the forward one with shaped piercing and also forming the ramrod-entry, flat circular fore-sight and pivoting back-sight, pivoting breech-block, flat bevelled lock numbered '56' and struck with crowned inspector's mark above, figured three-quarter stock (some old bruising) stamped with dated circular Maastricht arsenal mark on the right side of the butt, and regulation steel mounts struck with inspector's marks including butt-plate dated and serial numbered on the heel, sling loops, original serial numbered steel ramrod, and associated socket bayonet (some patination overall); the second rebuilt from flintlock parts, with sighted barrel retained by three spring-held barrel bands, the forward one also forming the ramrod-entry, pivoting back-sight, plain tang and flat bevelled lock, figured three-quarter stock (fore-stock damaged), butt stamped 'L' on the right side, regulation steel mounts, sling loops, steel ramrod (some pitting), probably original, and associated socket bayonet (4)
