By family tradition, this brooch was commissioned by Laurance S. Rockefeller and given to the vendor's great aunt, Mary Anne Dundon, in 1984, as a retirement gift. Ms Dundon worked as a secretary to the Rockefeller family in New York during 1960s and 1970s.
