COLOUR-CHANGE SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND PENDANT NECKLACE/BROOCH, CIRCA 1900

The cushion-shaped colour-change sapphire, within a millegrain-set surround of old brilliant-cut diamonds, encircled by an openwork tear-drop shaped frame of old cushion-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds, suspended from a similarly-cut diamond bow surmount, on a fine trace-link chain, with screwdriver and brooch fitting, pendant length 4.7cm, chain length 38cm, fitted case by R & S Garrard & Co., Goldsmiths, Jewellers, &c. to the King, by Special Appointment to the Crown, Haymarket, London, with cream silk and velvet interior

Accompanied by a report from AnchorCert stating that the colour-change sapphire is of natural Burmese origin with no evidence of treatment, appearing deep blue in daylight and deep violet in incandescent light. Report number 287713/20054770, dated 25th October 2021.
