First edition of Leonardo's treatise on painting, compiled from his original notes by his pupil Francesco Melzi. The illustrations of Leonardo's Trattato Della Pittura are the same as those used in the French translation of the treatise published by Langlois in the same year, where they are attributed to Poussin.
