Footnotes

Two wartime leaflets issued in 1941 and 1940, the first with a lengthy introduction by Churchill and instructions to the public as to what to do in the event of an invasion. This is the final group of these recently discovered leaflets following previous sales earlier this year. One of the smaller ones included in the lot might resonate after the events of the last two years: "Stay put. It's easy to say. When the time comes it may be hard to do. But you have got to do it; and in doing it you will be fighting Britain's battle as bravely as a soldier".
