A Tale of Two Cities, FIRST EDITION IN BOOK FORM, FIRST ISSUE, bound from the original parts with p.213 in part 7/8 mispaginated "113", and signature 'b' present on "List of Plates" at end, etched frontispiece, additional vignette title and 14 plates by "Phiz" (Hablot K. Browne) with tissue guards, occasional light foxing and soiling mostly at edges of plates, without advertisements but one original front wrapper bound in at end, contemporary dark purple half calf, gilt panelled spine, extremities rubbed and one joint slightly cracking (hinges reinforced internally), short tear to head of of spine [Eckel, pp.86-90; cf. Gimbel A142/3; Smith I.13], 8vo, Chapman and Hall, 1859
