A Canosan polychrome terracotta Ganymede figure
Hellenistic Period, circa 3rd-2nd Century B.C.
The youth nude but for a chlamys draped over his shoulders and falling down his sides, and laced boots, his right arm lowered, his left raised, crowned with an ivy-wreath, with locks of wavy hair falling onto his shoulders, preserving red, pink and blue pigment over white slip, 30cm high
